Appriss and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children have collaborated since 2004 to locate sex offenders, child abductors, and missing children. Appriss provides NCMEC with unlimited access to JusticeXchange, the largest real-time data network of incarcerated persons.
NCMEC analysts credit JusticeXchange with helping them locate more than 50 non-compliant sex offenders in correctional facilities across the country.
Appriss recently became a sustaining member of the IJIS Institute, an organization working to improve critical information sharing among criminal justice agencies. The institute provides training, technical assistance, national scope issue management, and program management services to help government fully realize the power of information sharing. Appriss has been an active member of the institute since 2003.
Appriss is only the tenth company to reach the sustaining member status level with IJIS.
Appriss is proud to be in partnership with the National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators (NADDI) to provide the National Precursor Log Exchange, or NPLEx, at no cost to states. NPLEx is a real-time electronic logging system used by pharmacies and law enforcement to track sales of over-the-counter (OTC) cold and allergy medications containing precursors to the illegal drug, methamphetamine.
Every day, millions of people across the country rely on effective OTC cold and allergy medications for their intended use. A small percentage of people buy these same medications with the intent of diverting a component into the illegal and highly volatile drug, methamphetamine.
NADDI provides NPLEx at no cost to states that have legislation requiring real-time electronic monitoring of precursor purchases, and agree to use the system.
